LES GRANDES FORGES
Les Grandes Forges is a meeting and exchange project that forms part of our regional action. The idea is to set up an ensemble in the local area in association with a lead artist. The latter will invite young musicians to build a programme based on our oral or written musical proposals.
The Quartet de la Forge (Richard Bonnet, Pascal Berne, Michel Mandel, François Raulin) will take charge of the ensemble for a short session: a day of rehearsals and a concert. “Les Grandes Forges” is a cross-generational orchestra, with a variable geometry depending on the number of guests.
It’s at the heart of the matter that experiences are shared, choices are made, skills are developed; in a word, the technical and artistic implementation of a musical intention. Over and above the aesthetics of each individual, it is through improvisation that the developments will be collectively conceived, tested and orchestrated, in order to give a strong identity to each initial musical proposal.
“Les Grandes Forges” is an orchestral experience that combines writing, artistic conception, improvisation and interpretation. We’re already betting that this experience of collective artistic work will be revealing and seminal for our young guests.
